With support from the PM Cancer Care Network, William Osler Health System, Oak Valley Health, and Waterloo Regional Health Network (formerly Grand River Hospital) are partnering to implement an outpatient protocol for the administration of Teclistamab (TEC), a bispecific T-cell engager approved for the treatment of multiple myeloma. This project was awarded funding through the 2025 PM Cancer Care Network Collaboration Grant, an annual initiative that supports innovative, high-impact, and collaborative projects across the Network.
Building on protocols established at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the project aims to validate and evaluate outpatient step-up dosing processes, assist community centres in operationalizing these protocols, and assess the usability and adaptability of a newly developed “Outpatient Step-Up Dosing TEC Handbook.” Originally used in academic settings, the handbook includes clinical guidance and training resources that will now support implementation at three additional community hospitals.
The project is led by Dr. Philip Kuruvilla (William Osler Health System) as Principal Applicant and Dr. Christine Chen (Princess Margaret Cancer Centre) as Co-Principal Applicant, with collaborators Joanna Graczyk (Waterloo Regional Health Network), Henry Solow (Oak Valley Health), and Dr. Sita Bhella (Princess Margaret Cancer Centre). Through this collaborative effort, the team will enhance local capacity to deliver complex immunotherapies safely in outpatient settings, supporting more equitable access to novel treatments for patients in their home communities.
The PM Cancer Care Network is proud to support this initiative and looks forward to advancing further partnerships that strengthen cancer care across Ontario.
